The Problems of Using Acne Medication

Acne is an aggressive skin disease. Adolescents and adults both become victims to it. There has been a lot of research that has been done on the causes of acne. Then there is, of course, the use of acne treatment products available at drug stores which include soap bars, gels, creams and other formulas. Though they are not proper acne medication, yet all these products still contain Benzoyl Peroxide. It is a milder agent and can be useful for continuous use. Many of the famous cosmetic brands are producing acne treatment products which contain Benzoyl Peroxide, and they are available as over-the-counter drugs.

Excessive use of Benzoyl Peroxide also results in dryness and flaking of the skin, and that too can lead to discoloration of the skin. Some people have also reported crusting and blistering of the skin. Moreover, these acne treatment products are quite expensive too.
